MY STORY
Personal Profile
Over the years I have been involved with multiple charities and voluntary organisations with the aim to help society.
Prior to 2001 I was a volunteer tutor at a local college helping adults learn to read and have also taught Adults in 2004 Environmental Science and Biology. During 2006 I became involved with Social Welfare Rights something I am passionate about helping the poor, elderly disabled and people with mental health difficulties. I was volunteer Assistant Manager at Banbury Advice Project and in 2008 I left to join Age Concern Oxfordshire which subsequently became Age UK Oxfordshire and stayed with them for 8 years. In 2010 I set up the Banbury WEA branch and was Chairman. During this time I helped to arrange a wide community programme of education courses. I was also involved in setting up Banbury Contact The Elderly branch a charity dedicated to alleviate the effects of loneliness in the elderly.
It was in 2016 that I founded the Banburyshire Citizen Project which runs the Banburyshire Advice Centre which helps the poor, disabled and elderly with benefit advice and general advice. I also raise issues on a number of causes that are of importance in society through my campaign work.
